Overview

The Director of Procurement is responsible for all aspects of the day to day operations of the Procurement department, as well as managing the strategic procurement projects.

 

The incumbent, as with all members of the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Team, provides excellent customer service to all Team Members, is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance. The incumbent shares in the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa support of the company’s Vision, Mission, Values, and consistently performs all functions in a fashion that inspires and motivates others to actively pursue them. As part of the leadership team, role models the expected behaviors of service, positive attitude, cooperation and accountability. Engenders trust in others and develops credible relationships at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Company in Company-Vendors relationships, deals and contracts.
• Responsible for departmental budgets, monthly financials and variance reporting, including overtime tracking and managing.
• Work with operational managers and directors on design issues and equipment decisions and participate in review sessions.
• Oversees and manages the day to day operations of the Procurement departments at two properties.
• Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of Stratton Warren system, PO’s, item #’s etc. Act as an owner of Stratton Warren system.
• Work with NV and CO properties to combine volume for both properties and reduce costs.
• Monthly reports on operational price variances.
• Ensures all bid specs are up to date
• Provides weekly market trend reports
• Oversee the accuracy of Bids specs. Ensures bid sheets to vendors are updated as appropriate
• Oversee the shopping list and make sure all items are ordered timely
• Review requisitions, contacts vendors and purchases goods based on agreed-upon price, quantity and quality, ensuring timely procurement of goods at price/value to meet the needs of client departments.
• Reviews bid for all major purchases to ensure securing the most advantageous deal in relation to price, quantity, quality, service level, and delivery schedule.
• Researches and communicates with existing and potential vendors in order to cultivate working relationships and develop most advantageous price and service agreements
• Responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to other employees and co-workers in order to provide superior customers service.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years procurement experience as a leader of a Procurement Department with experience in Food and Beverage operations and Casino operations and FF&E.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Word & Excel. Stratton Warren experience preferred
